The Area Stage Company Inclusion Theatre Project (ITP) originated from our belief that training in the performing arts teaches vital tools for life, reaching participants with developmental disabilities through multimodal classes within the musical theatre medium, and helping them on their journey as they move towards adulthood.  We aim to strongly counter the devastating effects of the judgements placed on them in today's society, where the shortcomings of our students are unfortunately emphasized, as opposed to helping them manifest what they are capable of achieving. ITP serves its target population of student actors across South Florida, ages 5 and up, with developmental disabilities who are eager to develop their talents.  Our coaches also travel to local schools to provide training on-site to individuals who might otherwise not have the opportunity to explore and access their natural abilities through the arts.  Through our innovative, comprehensive format, developing actors across the board experience socially-relevant and impactful artistic interactions which inspire change and foster understanding in our audiences and community.

The Area Stage Company, committed to its excellence in performance, theater, and dance, is proud to announce  Now one of the most performed shows in America, Seussical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza!  Tony winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, Once on This Island, Ragtime), have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination – Jojo. The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos.  Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.  Seussical is fun for the whole family!
